A while back, I wrote about a proposed new development at 1557-61 W. Howard St. I just got an update from Joe Moore's office that I'd like to pass along.
You are invited to attend a community meeting on Wednesday, May 5th, 7:00 p.m., at the Willye White Park Fieldhouse, 1610 W. Howard. A REVISED proposal for a new residential and commercial development at 1557-61 W. Howard (currently the site of the old Wisdom Bridge Theater building and the former DevCorp North office building) will be presented.
The height, floor plan and density of the original proposal remain the same. The developers--Richard Aronson and Scott Sinar--were asked to change the proposed facade based on community input and feedback Joe Moore received at the 2/22/10 public meeting.
The proposal is for a 7-story building with 60 residential units, 15,000- 30,000 square feet of commercial space on the 1st and 2nd floors, and 60-75 parking spaces located within the building.
The 1st three floors would be parking and retail and office space. No commercial or office tenants have been identified, but the developers would like to have a live theater company at the site. The top 4 floors would be either condos or rental units depending on market conditions when the project is completed.
A zoning change from B3-3 to B3-5 would be required for the proposed development.
