Earth Day celebration at Loyola this Saturday

Loyola University will host its second Earth Day celebration on Saturday 4/25 at the Quinlan Life Sciences Building, 1050 W. Sheridan Road (at Winthrop) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky will kick off the event with a keynote address on the efforts of the Obama Administration and Congress to implement meaningful changes in U.S. policy on global climate change. State Senator Heather Steans will speak in the afternoon portion of the event on her efforts to advance the cause of sustainable living at the state level. Speakers will include: Stephen Anderson, Foreign Exchange Services of Illinois; Nancy Benjamin, Master Gardener; Helen Cameron, co-owner, Uncommon Ground; Shawna Coronado, Columnist, "The Casual Gardener;" and many others.
