grand opening

The new Howard El Station will be open this Monday morning, June 9th, in time for the morning rush hour.

The new fully accessible station, just north of the parking garage at Gateway Centre, has 4 escalators and 2 elevators, with a canopy covering the new wider platforms and 4 sets of new tracks. The communications system throughout the station has features to assist hearing- and visually-impaired riders. A large bike storage area is a new feature in the station.

The old station entrance on Howard Street will stay open for another 6 weeks. Then it will close for a full-scale remodeling. It will reopen next year as the north entrance to the new station.

If you have any service requests for Joe Moore, he'll be there bright and early with his Satellite Service Office to offer you coffee and donuts.
